Default Put it all toward school or buy the guitar?

So i have a full time job, co-op, this summer from april-sept through my school... getting paid decent (500+ a week)... i have a dilema. my tuition is 12k a year on average, with scholarships and fin aid and all. i should be putting all the money away to pay as much of that off as i can. however i was in guitar center earlier this week and came across this guitar...

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...tar?sku=513317

i fell in love. the sound is amazing, i love the feel, its just what i want to jumpstart my music career (i want to have a demo cd out by the end of the year of all original stuff). its acoustic/electric.

i know my parents wont be thrilled if they find out, but i'm 21 now and they can't really do anything about what i spend my money on haha, plus my school loans are all in my name anyway so... what should i do, suggestions?

school? or the guitar? (regardless i'm paying for school, just determining how much will be loans)

You should pay for school, unless you know for a fact that you will be able to make a ****load of money with that guitar.
School should be more important than any hobby IMO.

Get smart and make some serious paper, then you can buy whatever you want.

Just my 2cents.

the way i see it is get through school poor for a few years and get a good degree so that you can have plenty of money to buy whatever you want for the rest of your life

I agree somewhat...however I think its ok to just spend a lil money once in a while. Are you goin to be continuing work during school?

tell that to everyone who makes a living racing cars, dirtbikes, motorcycles, being a pro surfer, golfer, anyone that rides a bmx bike or skateboard for a living, or majority of singers and nba players. I know it's a small percentage, but still.

well, you could also put it towards having fun while in college, rather than being broke
