You have to run 25 miles backwards, than swim in a swamp full of gay piranhas, than eat a couple of rusty nails, and THAN you have to drink 2 gallons of race gas and smoke a joint...
p.s. I am kidding...hehehe

Psh... you should see what it takes to become an admin.
To answer the question, its rather simple. Post count doesnt really mean too much as to becoming a mod. Its really who is ultimatly friendly, helpful as best as one can and pretty much be here often. Car knowledge isnt a major factor when us admins decide who gets a promotion. Hell, Fiirkan (Moderator) for example probably doesnt know nearly as much as some of the HCF staff does when it comes to doing serious work to cars and nor do I in some cases. But Fiirkan is here often and is known as a very friendly and helpful guy when he can, as best as he can. He also has hung out consistently here for a long time. Ultimatly, he earned the title as a moderator. As the forum gets bigger and bigger we might add more mods.
Out of the Auto Forum Universe (the company that owns this site and gobs of other car forums { www.autoforumuniverse.com }) HCF boasts the biggest staff out of all of them. You also have to get to know the admins pretty well in order to be chosen.
Its not an impossible feat. We dont hook up buddies or anything like that. Many can tell you here that I personally have turned down some friends because I didnt deem they fit the job... nothing against them but its crucial that MY and other admins responsibilites to uphold what we were asked to do to keep the forum stable.
I think we do a pretty damn good job at doing that. This is by far the friendliest Honda forum I have come across and I intend to keep it that way.
