ran the turd tonight
update.........the motor will be pulled friday evening after my run thursday night. my origional plan of using the zc pistons in an a6 along with a z6 head has changed. i have aquired my old crane 251-0016 cam so i will be going non vtec once again. here are the specs straight from crane
Part Number: 251-0016
Grind Number HON-271-2S-10
Advertised Duration Intake/Exhaust 242/244
Duration @ .050 Intake/Exhaust 216/218
Lobe Separation 110
Gross Lift 426/416
Description
Very strong upper mid and top end. Use high compression pistons (10.5-11.5:1) and street/strip cylinder head porting. Use low restriction exhaust, air intake system, bigger injectors, and throttle body. Use new stock valve springs. RPM range 2,000-8,000
got it back from my buddy who was using it in his stock block 1.5 and managed to run very low 9sec 1/8 mile passes on stock compression. assuming i can get traction i will be looking for 9 flats and maybe even breaking into the 8 sec bracket.

im looking foward to next week. were installing the crane cam into my buddies car here as soon as the car is cool enough. this is the same crx that has managed 10flat on a stock a6. asuming traction will be there were looking for mid to low 9 sec passes. this will give me a rough idea of what im looking to be at next week. im just hoping when i put my engine together it will hold up. ill be using new stock headbolts since i can get them for dirt cheap. although the last time i ran this same set up(same cam, cp 11.5:1 forged pistons) i couldnt keep the head from lifting without going to arp head studs. compression results with the cam and cp pistons yeilded 255 across all 4. so im keeping my fingers crosses since i really dont have the spare cash to drop on a set of arp's.
i am also hoping to get my old chipped ecu back in which i ran on this same set up so i can get a little more out of the set up even though mapping will not be exact for this new build. as far as the transmission problem i was having, well i thought it was a transmission problem. turned out to be a bubble in my tire which i never saw upon putting my 14"s back out front. so now i have more time to concentrate on building this new engine along with porting the head out(gasket match and a little bowl work). im just hoping my 14's will offer more traction than my crappy tires on my fat fives.

Factory Names
In the 1950's and 1960's many manufacturers began to apply brand names to their LSD units. The most famous of these was Chevrolet's "Positraction". Since then, Positraction (often shortened to "positrac" or merely "posi") has become a genericized trademark for LSDs.
Other factory names for LSD's include
Pontiac: Safe-T-Track
Ford: Equa-Lock and Trac-Lok
American Motors Corporation: Twin-Grip
Mopar: Sure Grip
Ferrari: E-Diff
as per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_slip_differential
my buddy has a clutch type limited slip in his full size chevy that we recently installed. not saying anything here but posi is just a generic term for an lsd.
