hmmm..chicken nuggets...that reminds me...i have a deep fryer..just a little thing..holds maybe a gallon of oil...well, we dont eat out much, and she doesnt do wings, so i make my own at home...as well as cheese sticks and potato skins...good stuff...i stronly recommend that every who likes to cook, has a personal fryer.
anyway..i wonder how those frozen nuggets would work out...

Wow this definitely is the most random thread Ive ever seen... And I missed something too. Who got banned? Or can someone PM me and tell me, so we dont have to like start about it again... Is curling like weight lifting? And Patrick you seem like some pro chef. Maybe thats a requirement to be admin around here! Cause in the Valentines thread Remmy said he is. Haha.
O and Id like to see that bug.. Thats crazy cause the engine bay is pretty small on those!

ha... i work at a short grill.. we have 2 large deep fryers... i make whatever i want when i go there... although some of it im afraid im gonna die... cause theres a few ppl that cut things and crap and then put it back on the shelf after they just cut like raw fish... worse part is its fda approved!!! filthier then mcds.. but still i like to make stuff like that there.. i will probably invest in one of those when i get my own appartment but i just have this habit of frying pan and oil just doing it open

I don't know about frozen nuggets, I might thaw them out first...

And no, I wouldn't suggest a deep frier for any dorm room unless you like a side of burning the building down...

Oh and for Amanda and anyone else that doesn't know, I give you... curling:

curling is far more interesting than it looks..it is very strategic...

as for a deep fryer in your dorm...i would be careful with that..my school did not allow them, as they can catch fire if you were to say, come home drunk from a party and try to deep fry something, and fall asleep...
ill have to look and see what make and model mine is...

as for the smell, so long as you dont keep using dirty grease, it doesnt smell bad at all. some people will say that you have to use shortening, but i use veggie oil, as it is a bit lighter...the only smell that comes from it, is the smell of the food. once youve used the grease a few times, if you dont change it, the "bad smell" that comes from it is actually tiny pieces of food that you may not be able to see, burning in the grease.

a few things, when i do deep fry anything, i always have a fire extinguisher nearby.

amanda, i am not a professional chef..as a matter of fact, im unemployed...while in college i ran a restaurant for a while, and although i wasnt one of the cooks, they were all culinary school students, and when we were slow/bored, they would make fancy meals although we were simply a short order steak place...it is a hobby of mine, and i enjoy it...my mom is a pretty good cook, as is my grandma...i make everything from scratch except for my noodles, and i prefer working with steak or seafood...alot of my meals lately have had an 'asian" kick to them, as i watch alot of iron chef, and pic up ideas from them...

my future in laws always look forward to being invited to the house for dinner...

F-that. I usually just grab a hand full of french fries, mozza sticks, nuggets, and whatever else straight outta the freezer and drop them in the oil. mmmmm, I want to go home and deep fry now

thats a point that i didnt think about...with the exception of wings, i throw everything in frozen...(and skins, but i make them myself, not out of a box)..the cheese sticks and poppers say on the box to drop them in frozen...

what kind of deep fryer do you have forty?

mine is black, it sort of looks like a black crock pot with a glass lid..it came with two types of round baskets, but i cant find a brand name on it...i have seen some in stores recently that are very fancy, with timers and such, that are shaped just like a small version of a commercial fryer...they even lift the basket and such. that is all too high tech for me...
