A reminder not to race on the street.
every driver should know that if they are going to race, be it on the track or on the street, there is at least some risk of personal injury and/or death...it doesnt slow me down any, or stop me...we are all gonna die someday...I can handle my rides. it bothers me when people put forth a big sob story about people who kill themselves racing. it isnt like they were minding their own business when a drunk driver hit them. i dont bat an eyelash when a racer screws up and wrecks, so long as no one innocent is involved. i feel bad for the family, but not for the deceased, because it was his choice to race, and his error which caused the accident.

Very true, my issue with it, is that you get that brief thought in your head "that could've been me." And thats enough to shake the strongest of will. I learned to drive a stick and race on a circle track when i was 12 yrs old (uncle owned a lot of property and built cars for stock car racing). Anyway, The first thing he told me was "Always know, that as a race car driver, you could die at any second, with almost no notice.....race hard, race intelligently"

sorry that had to be said, yes keep it on the track. you have no right to put others in danger when it comes to you wanting to enjoy speed. KEEP IT ON THE TRACK!!

That's what is happening to me. I've seen these kind of things before, but never when I've had a girlfriend whom I intend to marry. This has seriously shaken me, and this is the first time that I've been scared about that. I'm starting to realize that right now, I have too much to live for. I'm seriously reconsidering my goals for the car. Speed just doesn't even sound fun right now.
