Rolling Car Shots
i went on a little cruise to try to grab some shots of rolling shots on the freeway. My idea of a perfect rolling shot is the car is still and the wheels are still spinning in the picture. Here are some pics i grabbed and not what i want them to look like. I have a Nikon D40 and want some feedback and some guidance on how i can grab the perfect rolling shot.

still need to work on those shots. plan to do another round soon and get shots of the whole car with the wheels spinning and when i perfect on this i'm going to take some shots with my civic on the freeway. lol
yea, we should definitely set up a bay area civic meet

imo its good for your first try, i cant do it and my camera sucks lol. Only thing i saw you need to work on is fixing the blurriness of the whole picture itself, there is just a tad hint of blur on the whole picture, but again it looks good.
As long as the car itself is not moving around a lot. You could just turn your exposure time up a little and get a better blured effect. The shots you have are really good though. There is wheel movement and the backround is not too blurry, but the car is nice and crisp. Nice shots!
All you do is adjust the shutter speed so the wheels looks spinning, make sure you have plenty of light (as in try not to do rolling night or dawn shots). Hold steady (of course). Make sure you're going the exact same speed as the car that is being captured. Use interesting angles such as an angle from the top of the front corner of the car, or a close up of a side profile of the car showing the wheels spinning. It just takes a lot of practice, the best way to do it is get familiar with your camera with still shots first, lol.
