ROTM, ROTY. Whatever....
[/quote] I have a 300+HP monster=motor, in the garage fully built, getting ready to dump=install, into the bay=engine bay, the weeks following super bowl.

Ok I figured you caught a monster and you were gonna kill it by dumping it in the san francisco bay, after the Steelers win the super Bowl
Geez, alright I guess I ruffled some feathers. I never said that anybody didn't deserve to win. Didn't I state the fact that I liked JB's car and that Hondafreek's hatch was sick and US3R1's car was insane (or something like that)? I was reiterating the fact that Sacicons should be winning the ROTY voting and that the voting in general as a decidedly exterior trend to it.
Everybody keeps talking about good sportsmanship. I never disrespected anybody. Unless you count my kidding with JB. Sorry (he started it). Whomever wins will get congratulated. I'm not gonna go pout in a corner all butt-hurt because 12 people who like body kits didn't vote for a beat up SC'ed 94 Ex that I happen to own.
For some reason I felt bad after initially posting this, thinking, "I shouldn't be saying stuff like this," and judging by some of your opinions, maybe I shouldn't have... but since when dont' I get to voice my opinion?

I agree with snip. I think you should be able to say what you want. No matter if it pisses a few poeple off or not. Could you imagine what it would be like if know one in the world ever got pissed off.

amg, I totally agree, somewhere along the lines recently the moral of this forum has dropped. Theres always been an irritating member here and there, and thats to be expected, but it has gotten out of hand as of late. I still think this place is better than most others out there, if for no other reason than the regular members. When was the last time anyone saw a fight between HCF veterans?? Sure, theres heated debate once in a while, but that's why we're here, and no one goes home butt hurt over it.

Well said. I respect the regulars around here emensly. You guys are the awesome.
And by regulars I don't necessaraly mean top 10 posters or anything like that. "The regulars" are mostly people that have been around at least as long as me (I'm still fairly new around here in the grand sceam) and are helpfull on a daily basis.
For me, priorities go: performance and everything that entails, exterior, interior.
as for the state of our dear forum, i can see it slipping a little too. when i first joined up everyone was welcoming and good friends. lately with this increased volume of members, it seems like more SRO style bickering and everyone posting a hate opinion just so they can seem like they aren't rice or whatever their trying to prove to themselves, instead of just being a fairly tight knit and helpful community.
stop the arguing and get back to being HCF again
i personally have based it all on how much people actually know about their car and how much they actually bothered to do with it themselves. ive mostly voted for the highest performance, but its mostly based on how much wrench time was actually put in by the driver. Its not nessecarily based on the car alone, like MXS said, but also on the person. Sure, if someone comes here askign what parts to get, learns their stuff, and is willing to put towards money to get it done, i can respect it (mainly cuz their car will spank the hell outta mine) but if they're up against another car with the same stuff done to it, with aperson who has done the wrench time themselves, the second one is gunna get my vote. it also has a lot to do with how much effort theyve put into learning their stuff. i know there are a lot of people who came here the same time i did and learned a ton of stuff in a short period of time, and i can respect that too. I can honestly say i voted for pete for ROTY because he has a sweet car, did all the wrench time himself, and he really knows his stuff. Same with XCM in the past month, because he really buckled down and learned his stuff before installing his turbo,a dn he went through a lot of perserverence to get that ting to fit. basically, its based on who really put the most work into their car.
forty said perfectly what i think. i can trace my votes all the way back to the beginning of the ROTM and i can say i honestly believe i voted for who i think knew the most and put the most time into their car...not who threw the most money at it.

well said, I may be new to this board but Ive been around for a while and I know all about the tuner guys / show guys disagreements. It all comes down to people respecting others' opinions and work regardless of what side theyre on. Work is work whether it be cosmetic or performance related. I started my 02 coupe with the tuner mind set but ended up going show route due to the extreme lack of potential of the d series engines and the extreme lack of performance upgrades that were under 5K. I've been on both sides of the field and it always bugs me when I see the same issue come up over and over again. Performance parts arent cheap, cosmetic ones are generally cheaper. A lot of people dont have the tools and/or knowledge of Honda engines to do the work themeselves, we were all there one day. Guess this is just an overdone issue with me.
AMG im in the same boat as you. i used to spend hours on this forum everyday. i used to log on during my computer drafting class. lately i come on here for less than an hour a day. there used to be many good topics and tech help and now its just the same ol crap everyday. there have been some users coming on here just to start **** and it bothers me. does it really make them feel good to come on here and post just trying to start a fight. i mean come on people grow up. and i want to thank all the good people on here for continuing to come back and help and hopefully this will all blow over
