Umm... how are they totally different? Garlic Powder is merely dehydrated garlic, which is then ground into a powder. Garlic salt is a mixture of garlic powder and salt.

They are basically the same, except one is saltier. I cannot think of another sp!ce or combination of sp!ces that can compare to Garlic powder.
