Default Screw E-machines (rant)

I used to love these as they were cheap and lasted. I bought my last one for like $350 with monitor and printer about 3 years ago. It was reliable and satisfied my needs. Last sunday, I went to turn on my computer and nothing happened. Instead i was greeted by intense burning smell. I figured that it was just a power supply, so I tested teh computer with a spare one. The spare power supply was working, but mobo was dead (as i discovered after testing it). I also had a report due the next day, so I had to take out the HDD and hook it up to my buddy's PC. This pissed me off so much that immediately I went online and bought components to build a new system. Here's what I got:

P5N32 SLI NForce4 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 CPU
2gig of DDR 667 ram
GeForce 7900GT GPU

This computer is so fast - I can't believe it. The only downside is that I spent $900 on it. I intended to use that money to buy turntables and a mixer

PS. I will never EVER buy a pre-built computer again and neither should you

That happens alot with E-machines. I was at one of the local racord stores about a month ago, and his caught on fire. He hadn't cleaned it in forever and it went up in flames. Needless to say, it will be awhile before I go in that store again. LOL

yea,I figured I'll give this a shot. The fact that holidays are coming helps too. Heck, if I make $100 bucks from it, I'll be happy - it took me about 2hrs to put everything together and it was actually fun

PS. What I like about my current setup is the fact that it's very overclockable. this CPU runs surprisingly cool too - 28C at idle
