So, as some of you may know, I do some writing, such as the Si Concept piece found on the right of the forum. I have written about 30 or 35 pieces altogether, about everything vehicular from the new Carrera GT, to the Cavabalt SS. Well, I figured that it was worth a shot to apply to the NAIAS committee for a press pass, and today I got the (very impersonal) email that I have been denied press credentials....[:@]

 

Sorry to hear that man. How impersonal was the letter. Was it "We regret to inform you..." or was it "Quit sending us stuff or we'll contact the authorities..." There's a chance you'd get ahold of someone else, right? Or is it really just one commitee that makes the decision?

 

its a committiee...i had to send my "Credentials", along with three articles, and their sources. i didnt think that i had a very good shot going in, seeing as how i am, in theory, competing with writers from C&D or motor trend...but my articles are better than some that i have seen...

and the email was inpersonal enough for them to spell my name wrong...[&o]

 

Beautiful. I suppose that you're only satisfaction now, is to go to Kinko's, xerox a pic of your ***, and mail it to them asking them to reconsider. Won't help, but it'll give you a chuckle, right? D*ckweeds!!!

i get that all the time[:@] on letters and mail and even in school! it makes me angry...but keep trying, you'll make it

 

my last name only has 4 letters in it...and two are repeating...[:@]
as for when i am going, it is still up in the air..i may be going to the industry days show, but that is expensive. i believe that is the 11th. my dad is coming up for his first NAIAS on the 20th, so im definately going on that weekend, and i think that ill be going the weekend of the 13th, as i am supposed to have some friends from pittsburgh making the trip, but thats up in the air.

 

Hey pat, take a look at this. It landed on my desk like 3 months ago and I picked it up a read it. It blew my friggin mind. It has actually helped me out tons. Either buy that or when Im done with my copy I can send it to you. It will give you mucho faith and confidence.

i have no problem getting paid for articles...i just got shot down by the NAIAS people, and i dont know why. i met their criteria per the webpage.
