Default Should I be worried?

So I have a JDM LSD for sale on craig's list, and I had some guy e-mail me wanting to buy it. He said he would send me a certified cashier's check, and he would have UPS service pick it up, when the check clears. He wants my full name, address, and phone number so he can setup the payment. He said no PO box, because he's using UPS service to send out payment. It all seems a little fishy to me, should I be concerned? Thanks -JW

I'm willing to bet my savings/checking accounts, my social security number and my mustang as well as my fiat that it's a scam.

Let's go down the list of "It's a scam" giveaways:
1) Cashier's check. Check
2) It needs to be shipped. Check.
3) He/she wants your info. Check
4) Let me guess, he/she referred to your lsd as "item"?
5) Let me guess, the spelling was terrible and/or the entire e-mail was in italics.

My rule for selling on CL is no e-mail address, no forward e-mail address through craigslist. I'll give out my cell number. I hate scam attempts, and if someone wants to buy something, we'll inevitably need to speak on the phone anyway.

scam

Another scam they like to do is where they write you a cashier's check for a large amount, and they want you to cash it and give them back their change, along with the item they bought. Then, the check bounces, and you now owe that money.

complete scam.... but if you want to see a fake check then send him your name and adress... he will pay the 5-15bucks to have the FAKE MONEY ORDER/CHECK shipped to you overnight.

just dont try to cash it!
i did one and for the most part it looked real...... to a very gulable person that is! they did try to copy it fully front and back BUT THE EASIEST WAY TO SEE IF ITS A FAKE.... IS LICK YOUR FINGERS AND RUB THE CHECK.... IT WILL JUST smear.LOL
and then you can mess with the guy and tell him you sent him the rest of the money.....
yes he will send you to much and say... ((((I HOPE I CAN TRUST YOU to send me the money back, i love jesus....)))))
LMFAO
just read what the email says and is posted on every page on craigslist!!!!!

If you don't mind the fees, Paypal is a pretty safe bet.

paypal is always the safest way! its not fool proof but IMO its the safest way to send money online! i dont even mess with money orders nor do i really take them when selling stuff on ebay.
just use some common sense when sending money.... i like it how paypal shows you that persons paypal ratting also... so you can see how long they have been a member and how many transactions that they have done.

Yeah, I normally use paypal only, but I need this thing sold, that's why I was even considering it. Thanks for the heads-up everyone!

I'm receiving a money order as a payment from a guy on H-T, but it's a small payment and the guy has pretty high post count so i'm not too worried.
