In Oklahoma, it can lower your ticket if your speedo was off, and you got it fixed before court. If you go to the right shop.. and DROP $20 in the mechanics pocket, your paperwork might say it was .. oh lets say off by 20. May help you, may not.

The cop was actually being nice to you. A 30+ is you = jail, car = impound. I've had to bail someone out for that crap.

 

that should be a nice fat fine. Just paid my $300 speeding ticket. It was $270 aftering paying the traffic school fine, and then another $20 for the actual traffic school. O and they added a convience fee for paying online($10), rip off. It really sucked, I was going 60 in a 40. I still think the cop could have been nice and nocked it down to 59. Would have saved be a lot of moneny, but o well.

 

Dude you should have gone to jail for that (literally). You should consider yourself really lucky because you basically got a warning. Pay the fine, and move on. You're taking this for granted, and I don't appreciate it personally. If this had been me, and where I live, they would have thrown my *** in jail and impounded my car.

Most cops do not put you in jail for speeding. It too much paperwork for them. Being the fat lazy bastards they are, they rather just give you an expensive ticket and **** you off.

 

Wow, that's kinda fast. If the judge uses good judgment and makes a decent decision, he shouldn't reduce anything and give you the full amount, but that's just me being me. I think people should consider a ticket of any amount to be a learning lesson, the bigger the ticket, the more knowledge you gain. I don't think that an incorrect speedo is has anything to do with your situation. Just look at the flow of traffic. Even brand new factory cars today are designed with speedometers that can be off by as much as 3 mph or more, but that doesn't mean it would help them get out of a ticket for going 20+ over the limit.

 

FHP doesn't give a ****. They'll throw your *** in jail for it even if they have to fill out paperwork.
