Default Starting new job tomorrow (graveyard shift)

So I start my new job tomorrow at Corporate Graphics Commercial which is part of Tailor Corp. I'm going to be a press assistant hopefully moving up to press operator. I start tomorrow at 5pm and get off at 5am working a 3 day week 12 hr shifts but get paid for 40 hrs. I hope I don't die lol. I'm used to working 10 hr shifts right now so hopefully this wont be to bad. All I do know is this is gonna be nice for the pocket book and when Financial Aide money comes I'm gonna be very irresponsible like your typical college student and buy a lip kit & other parts..... people weren't kidding when they said moding your car is like a drug. But yah who else works the graveyard shift and should I stay up late as hell tonight and sleep all day tomorrow or just go to bed at normal time.

I work swing shift. 7days 3-11, off 1, 7days 7-3, off 1, 7days 11-7, off 4. If I was you I would stay up till 1 or 2 in the morning and then sleep as late as you can (at least noon). Then go to work and it won't be bad, first one is the hardest but after that your sleep will be fully adjusted. Good luck.

It's about 1:30am the time I usually get off work so imma play some Americas Army and stay up a little later thanks you guys. Yah hopefully the chemicals won't do me in I ran a 5 color press at my other job and now im an assistant on this press so I went backwards just because it pays more at the building im transfering to. Tailor Corp sucks though lol, I'm going on my last year in graphics communications in college so hopfully I'll be floor supervisor some day but for now press operators make good money. The press below is simialr to the Heidleberg I'll be a press beotch on.

Good luck on your new job! Working mids has its advantages and disadvantages. I worked 12:30-8:30 am for 18 years at a satellite tracking station. Best advise is to stick to a routine. Don't get up right before time to go to work.It will be hell. Lay low on the last day off before going back to shift. It can work with a little effort.

You'll find out what works for you.

Yeah I ran a printing press in school for 2 years (part of a graphic arts program.. I was the only one there trained to run the printing press). I thought about getting a job in that field after school until I looked into it and learned that just about every chemical you use for operation and clean up can cause cancer. You get paid good money at least. I might look into it some more if I ever get tired of my current job (assistant manager of an arcade).

haha + 1 for sure. i got big plans for the summer. its gunna be ALOT of work, but there is an 02 civic LX coupe that is the same color at a salvage. if i can save up 2500$ before its gone, i will buy it, and swap a bunch of parts into my DX. its probly a bad idea but whatever haha il swap both doors so i can have the power windows and locks, then il put the A/C in too cuz i want that badly haha
