Yeah, the spark plugs are a bitch to mess with, but IMO the rest of the conveniences more than make up for it.

Also, on the warranty issue, Subaru has been awesome so far. However, my car is completely stock, so I suppose that helps.

In the end a EVO has more potentail but I still think STi's feel better, look better, sound better, so I am bias.

I think what he meant that it is cheaper/easier to do it on an Evo since there is already such a HUGE modding scene with the Evo.

Take a look around nasioc, and you'll realize that the "scene" is just as big for the STi.

Cheaper isn't always better. And the whole "Evo's are easier" is just a general misconception.
