STi VS FORD MUSTANG 2007
2007 model Subaru STi
2.5liter turbo with intercooler... varible diff control (located under the e-brake)
factory big brakes...six speed transmission. 300.hp.(high octane fuel) a very nice machine World rally proven. curb wieght 3351 lbs.roughly $33,000 bucks.
Stock its a really nice machine. Tuned is whole different monster.
FORD MUSTANG GT 2007
4.6 liter V-8 300hp.( on low octane fuel)
5spd / Sequential multi point eletronic fuel injection
Aluminum block /Curb wieght 3450 lbs $25,000
And this one can turn better than its fore fathers.
The cars listed above have a connection to motor racing..one's t/a champ(80's) a factory drift car (falken) both have a *****...wieght varies..pending on the transmission package with respect to the STANG. Now the sti...by far will waste a stang on the 1/4 mile / and most lapping events. Where a stang will win is in the money spent roughly 25,000 bucks...will get you 300hp running on regular pump gas...no problem. Where as the STi is roughly 33,000 bucks and needs the high octane gas. So it cost more to play with that puppy. Now in straight line bothe cars ramming 3rd gear a hard call to make. As both cars from the factory will do over 145mph with ease. Now imagine bothe cars are Tuned to the nines..a 650hp Stang running a vortec with Saleenparts( Suspension gearing ecu). A HKS tuned Sti running the same power. The stang will be far more realible and responsive to the drivers demands. The fully tuned Sti would be a whole lot of fun and in the right conditions would dominate the ford but a tuned 8cyl with the same amount of TLC will always be king in this particular duelof the road . Unless you bring in the inline 6cylinder turbo blocks of the TOYOTA CAMPs and NISSAN CAMPs.
Now thats just my view point.
One more thing...Anyone here ever driven a STi on track doing some hot laps???? not very friendly to your tires.
Anyone wanna see some really fast tuned imports look for the (Hot versions dvd's from Japan.)
Look especially for the DVD with this EG6 tuned by SEEKER. That is one bad mother HONDA
mind you the really good one has no english what so ever you see the real DK himself chatting then boom in car touga battles...on some serious road tracks.
