I meant what happened to the car? Every1 is making a big deal on how the tow truck driver is letting the car roll on the road. I'm pretty sure there is a mechanical reason for this, but i wanna know why.

 

I think the big deal is, it's an awd (all wheel drive) car and if only 2 wheels move at once, it ****s up the tranny... I think thats the big deal

 

How does 2 wheels moving bust up the tranny? What mechanically happens when this occurs?

 

I had to be towed last week and I stated that I needed a flatbed as I'm AWD...first truck was a hook-up, but he went to look for a diff in the back the moment he got there and after he saw it, he called a flatbed immediately...and I had to be towed for 70 miles too:-D

 

its not as much the tranny that gets shredded, its the center differential. i mean it does damage to the whole drivetrain, but it will liquefy that center diff. the cars entire purpose in life is to keep all four tires moving as close to the same speed as possible. when you hook two up to a dolly, and drag two, its fighting all of the mechanicals in the drivetrain that try to put power to all four wheels all the rest of the time.

 

Youd think the tow truck driver would hear "KKKKKKRRRRRRRUUUUUUUSSSSLLLLLAANBBBBKKKKKRRRRMMMM MMMBBBBBBRRRR"



then again he was prolly concentrating on his skoal and "Sweet home alabama" just came on the radio.

 

do you guys really thign the tow truck driver gives a ****
hes gettin paid to pick up the car and thats it

 

and it can even weld the enitre diff into one big useless peice of metal

 

I think he would care because the tow company is liable for the damge so I bet the driver gets into some troube for costing his employer the money
