i think that i need to buy another car so i can put my civic in the garage and work on it without having to worry about not having a car to drive.... im kinda thinking about my aunts/uncles 98 eclipse RS, yea, with the crappy 420a motor or whatever, its been running good for about 1 year now with only some minor problems before, and the interior is mint, no rips stains or tears, there is one spot that the paint is kinda faded, but my uncle paints cars and is going to fix that spot when he gets his shop cleared of customer cars. do you guys think i should go for it or no? and if so, how much do you think i should spend? he was telling me 10k but i think he was just trying to mess with me becasue that was about a year ago... hes been trying to sell it without advertising or anything, and i know he will still get rid of it if an offer comes along.

10k was a joke, he was trying to prove to me that a car is "worth" whatever the owner wants to sell it for. its only worth like 4....so they would prolly sell it to me for that. see the problem is with buying a honda, their value stays so high, and they get such good milage, everyone that has one wont sell it for its real value, there always super expensive.(compared to what they should be) i really dont think much could go wrong with that car, ive helped replace half of the crap on it...the bigest problem was when the sending unit wires melted at the plug. since we fixed it, its been runing fine...its only got like 90,000 miles on it.

I think you have to be 5'10" or shorter to even fit comfortably in those 2nd gen eclipses. I test drove a 99 eclipse GS-T and me being 6'5" the steering wheel was killing my legs[8D]. the only real problem with the engines that I know is crankwalk on those 2nd gens

+one for honda/acura

..im always looking at the new issue every week and you could pick up some type of honda/acura for about 1,500CAD with around 200,000k. cert e-tested.

Iv seen alot like that, or with less km. You can find some good deal sometimes.

i agree just keep looking for a beater honda ull find if u dont get in a hurry

this is my 180$ beater 89 hatch, ive talked about it on here before im proud of my junker, it had a blown head gasket fixed that the car runs good, auto trans shifts fine after changing fluid, only thing is it uses a quart of oil around every 100miles. i can still rebuild it and it be cheaperthen other cars i could have bought for its use

my uncle had a 98 eclipse gst (spyder), went 180k on all original hardware, he traded it in at that point, though the rear wheel bearings were shot

my mom had a 94 plymouth colt vista, which used the same mitsu engine as the lower end models of the eclipse believe it or not, and that sucker is still running after going 180+k on all original, even breaks
