As far as how he does it here is the webpage where you can get the software, and the hardware www.lightorama.com I actually do the same type of thing with my Christmas lights. However last year with that display he was running 80 channels, and for this years display he will be running 180 channels. My display is a bit smaller because as was said above it is a little pricey. Just the 16 channels that I am running cost me 350 dollars, and the software cost me 75 dollars.
