Default Thinking about selling my Si...

Alright...I love my Si and its great, but around here when its raining and pouring and the streets are horrible to drive on, the Civ just doesnt offer me too much protection. Being in one car accident in the rain, (you all kno my story about stupid Toyotas) I kinda dont wanna risk getting into another accident and ruining a car I love, and hurting myself or others. Ive been driving my moms BMW around since it has traction control and she reminded me why she wanted me to buy a beemer instead of my car. So since this summer I paid cash for my car, I was thinking Id sell my car and put all the money toward a newer BMW. And get myself stuck with a car payment, but thats alright, even with a car payment I can pay more than all of my bills in one paycheck. The only joy of still living at home.. So if anyone is interested in buying my Si, or has any advice, pleasee let me kno! Thanks!

forget the bmw, unless you like $300-$500 oil changes...

and it's rear wheel drive, so it's not gonna be safer in the rain.

get a subaru. AWD rools.

and you can get traction control in almost all decent new cars nowadays, either standard or as option.

Do the new Civics have traction control? If not, go Mini.

Her BMW like holds tight to the road. I had to pull to the side of a highway cause an ambulance was coming, and I was in like mud, and even then the message center came on to tell me I didnt have good traction then it gripped the road and away I went. And I can do my own oil changes. And even at a shop they dont cost even $100. My mom had one done at the dealership and they used to best oil for a beemer (I cant remember exactly wat it was) but it was just below $100 for that. I can do that easily myself. Its just the damn parts that cost so much to replace. But Id definitely get a warranty on one. Not only that, but her car is so damn comfortable. It has the Harmon/Kardon upgraded system in it. Her system is still just the stock (but upgraded) system and sounds great! Trust me I dont wanna let my baby Si go, I just dont think its a great idea to have a car that Im afraid to drive in the rain. I cant even go up to see my dad who lives in NV because its annoying to have to raise my car enough to put chains on and Id still be scared to drive it over the mountains. I dunno, if I could afford to, Id love to keep it as a summer/any time its not raining kinda car, but I cant have the Si and pay the full price for a new car.

just remember that no amount of traction control will help if you hit a patch of ice. and if that were to happen, i'd rather be in a lighter car like a civic, rather than a bmw. but if you're gonna buy a new car, i'd definitely go awd rather than rwd. you should buy an evo.

also, for the time being, i've learned that it helps if i can make my car as heavy as possible when the weather sucks outside. so i fill up the gas tank and have gone so far as to put things in the trunk to make the car a little heavier than normal.

dam that sucks girl, im sad for you ...but i guess its also a good idea in your situation because in more times then not it sounds like you need a car with more traction with the rain and going to see you dad, so i guess it a good idea...iv never had a problem (knock on wood) with traction before and when this winter started i was scared ****liss becasue i thought it was going to be really bad, but its been way better then what i expected, only 1 time (worse day of the year so far) i was soooo scared on the highway,i felt i was driving on ice sliding back and forth,im not sure if i was or not, but it sure felt like it..ill give it to u tho, BMW's are really nice carsgood luck with what you do
