well, first off im new here. i haven't posted much since i don't own a civic, but i was thinking of selling or trading my project 240 for a 5th gen. all of my friends are saying its dumb, but i think otherwise. i want to try my hand at a honda. i know its all been done before, but recently i got a chance to drive a 98 ex 5spd on some curvey roads, and i gotta say i liked it. the car was lowered w/ 17's and some new nitto's. it gripped rather well and responded well to shifting, braking, and turns. i can't stop thinking about getting one now. anyways, just like the title says, what do you guys think? i know the 240 is basically becomming the new civic, but i already own a MR2 turbo, and hopefully soon a Talon TSI. i think a civic would fit rather well in the family.

 

where ya at, how much you want for the 240

 

Im in Illinois. currently, the way the car sits i'm asking 800. thats what i have into it thus far. i can get a newer ka24de to drop in and convert it to a manual for 400 bucks from a friend in Madison, WI but w/ the holidays and all im broke for awhile. i want to trade it for a higher mileage 5th gen, but no bites.

 

does it run and do you have pics? I will buy that car cash and come get it if you send me pics and it will make it back to TN.

 

no bro, it doesn't run unfortunately. i have acouple of pics in the fs forum. you'd have to trailer it back. if it ran i'd keep it for awhile or sell it for more. it needs some work, but for the year and the mileage she's in great condition. it needs a new hatch cause 240's have this rust plague due to their stock foam wings. you could get a hatch at a junkyard for 100 bucks or less(i've priced them before). anyways, i have all the components for a manual swap as well. most of those items are hard to get and covetted on most 240 forums. that would all come w/ the car. clean title as well.

sell it and buy the civic, it sounds like it needs a bit of work...dam you have a nice collection going on tho, MR2 is such a sweet car..around here you rarely even see them

 

thanks bro! yeah, so far im pretty lucky w/ getting more of the rare imports. im looking at getting an 94 integra 5spd. i'd rather get a civic though, but beggars can't be choosers ya know. im probably going to sell the 240 for pretty cheap and get some honda project.

 

go for it. you dont want to live life thinking " what if i did buy it" it seems like you dont really give 2 ****s about the 240, so go for it man.
