even with the top its almost 200 lbs lighter, has 40 more horses and 35 more lbs of torque.. i do concider that some what of a difference from the mugen si

 

oh yea and the suspension on the s2000 is sweetttt lol

 

i heard the 2007 model was suppose 2 be the last... but they made the 2008, if this one sells im sure their gunna make more

 

I like two things about it:

1). It has a removable aluminum top
2). There's a tire repair kit instead of a spare.

 

I believe the CR is suppose to be a collector type car since the S2000 is on its way out. I'm not totally positive on Honda's plans for 09 but I would not be surprised if they did not make the S2000 any longer. I've heard some stuff about a V10 powered mid engine sports car coming out soon although that wouldn't be in the S2000's class.

 

ANyone who nitpics cause it doesn't have a top is not a true car nut, I am the sort of person that would have an Arerial Atom just so that i can drive it on the few days in the summer. and love every second of it... but it would have to be the UK spec one... Supercharged CTR motor > Ecotec, simple as that

Not a production car yet but I've heard this will be the NSX's replacement. I have not yet read anything official from Honda regarding the V-10 sports car either so its purely speculation at this point. It is the S2000 Club RACER. This is a race car in the truest sense of the phrase. The CR is built to race. They have shaved weight off it to make it faster and handle better. They have aggressivly tuned the suspension to perform well on the track. It doesn't have a top, but it comes with a removable aluminium top. If I had the $$$ I'd buy one.

 

The NSX replacement is going to be less of an all out sports car and more touring like. It will be front engined too. And yes this S2000 is the last one, and yes the CR is supposed to be a track oriented version. And Roade and tracke or car and driver, can't remember which one, just compared the two on a track and the nismo 350z was slightly faster (almost negligible) but it is also more roomy and cheaper...

 

I think they are slow and to cramped up inside period. The cars handle pretty good but there are other cars out there that do it just as well plus have more power on tap. The S2000 to me is a a rwd version of a B16 civic. The F20 and F22C's feel like a B16 but like I said the car is balanced ok. Now one thing I can not stand at all about the S2k is that is absolutly sucks on gas. All in all I think it dont even touch a STi or a EVO in it's price range even though those are not considered true sports cars. Also a Mazdaspeed Miata can be had and it has more hp and tq as the S with around the same weight and Mazda has proven it's worth in the open roof 2 seat roadster class.
