what specifies 'gansta rap'? it all sounds the same to me..

 

well gangsta rap... kind of separation between main stream and real thuggas...for instance listen to somebody that lives the thug life and somebody that has a thug image but not really thug (or thug anymore) such as 50 Cent (main stream hip-hop) and Andre Nickatina (been to jail doesnt make tons of cash and is still fairly real in thug life and the sounds are just what they like and not what will sell.)....thats like the diff. between indy music and main stream former indy bands...the sounds change when they are in for money instead of for music...

thenagain i could probably have you listen to The Arcade Fire or The Wrens and then have you listen to Pavement or Explosions in the Sky and you probably couldnt tell which one was mainstream and which one is more popular (just to use your indie refrence).

ugh! explosions in the sky are the worst (sorry) but its not like im only into gangsta stuff i listen to a lot of other stuff too most of my friends are into the indie scene so i hear a lot of that....

classic = not frank sinatra

i guess i should say what i listen to. literally....everything...except new rap and new country. there is some select older rap that i like and old country (like hondaracer) like johnny cash.

ps if you say R&B youd better as hell like eric clapton and BB king... because R&B isnt rap like most people think. R&B = rythm and blues...its known as the blues too.
