its because in the states we have real sports with which to concern ourselves.

2-0 shouldnt be considered a high scoring game in any sport...

I think I'll bet on Brazil with Germany as my 2nd choice.
Dont pick germany as the 2nd choice, you will lose your money as they are not a good side.

Biggest load of crap I have ever heard in my entire life!

GO ECUADOR!!! ahhh...i cant watch as many of the games as i'd like, dont have cable or tivo..lol i just catch w/e i can on abc..

football and baseball are such bs...superbowl and world series are so dumb, they consider themselve world champs yet they only play teams within the united states..HAH! and football scoring is kinda stupid, football scores are just as similar when broken down, 1 touchdown=6 points?? they just make it look better by adding 5 more points to it so the end result looks a like a massive number when in reality the score would prolly be like 5 to 3 with some bs fieldgoal points. and the old thing, why is it called football when only a couple ppl touch the ball with their foot during kickoffs or field goals!? ahh just so dumb IMO..

now the winner of the world cup, is truly the best in the world considering they play many many different countries around the world and such..

the world cup is just an attempt to make other countries feel like less of pussies because there is finally SOMETHING broadcast around that world which the US doesnt dominate. and the US doesnt dominate only because most normal americans (other than the few who are trying to seem "european" by drinking warm beer and enjoying boring *** soccer) have the athletic prowess to do more than just kick a ball then run after it...over and over...and for the record, while i enjoy football, baseball is boring as well, and is the official sport of cuba, not the US...im a hockey player, and most countries compete in that as well...except for the countries that are too drunk while watching/playing soccer to stand up on ice.

civicexracer, the world cup of hockey is played as well, but alot of the best players in the world dont bother to play because they make a fortune in the predominantly american NHL..so they dont want to get hurt playing in a tourney that means nothing. soccer players dont care because there is no real lucrative professional league...what does a "Really good professional soccer player" in eurore make a year? is it as much as the league minimum in the NHL?

my dad played soccer in high school on a state championship team, and i still make fun of him for it...he wanted me to play as well, but i chose hockey, as im not a nancy..i prefer sports with Real contact.

that being said, if there is nothing else on, i still watch for for the sheer enjoyment of seeing everyone hate on the US...

Ha ha, thats a good one, they earn plenty, try £100,000 a week just in club wage's thats without the sponsorship deals which are million's of pounds.
Oh and we dont just play proper Football, we play Rugby ( no pad's or helmets in sight), an 80 min game with one half time not 15 mins of play stretched out over 4 hrs, now thats boring!
You obviously cannot comprehend the fittness and skill level that it take's to play soccer, your only saving grace is to say ' Oh we American's are so tough that we dont play soccer, we play contact sports, blah blah ( again with pads and helmets)' Get yourself out on a rugby pitch and see some blood and broken bone's.

I for one play soccer and for those who say it isn't a contact sport has not played or Doesn't take the time to really watch a game. No it is not as tuff as football, but in many cases you will be running faster than those players and hit one another head on, without pads(except shin guards). At our school, we have these big guys who play football come out for soccer and end up losing up to 20, 30 lbs. It shows how much endurance you have to have to play the sport. It is a strategic and edurance sport not brute force.
