let me start by saying that i have something liek 40 or 45 driving games alone for PS2. also sports games, etc...i am pretty much a sony gamer./..however, after all of the fuss that i heard about forza, i bought an xbox, and the xbox fanboys are right...forza is a great game. i have, and have gotten through the GT series games, and when more come out, ill buy them, but there is no excuse for things like physical, visable damage, or the option to alter your cars appearance. people who say "GT series games are by far the best" either havent played forza, or they are fanboys, and their opinion is tainted.

so, to answer the question the initial question..if i could go out on the 17th and just buy a PS3, i would have one on the first day.

however, im an adult with the money to spend, not a kid who has scratched together my pennies to buy a new PS3, then waited in line for 18 hours in the cold to get it..screw that. when sony gets their asses in gear and stops playing games with their biggest market, and decides to supply enough systems to meet the demand, i will buy one...but ill be damned if i will ever wait in line for anything that is going to cost me 600 bucks. i just got a 52" HDTV, so i want a HD gaming system, but not bad enough to wait in line. if xbox hurries and brings the second forza game out, i will liekly go buy the 360 system and the new forza. then ill buy the PS3 whenever i can walk into a store and buy one.

in short, im too good to wait in line for a video game system that will likely have "bugs"....im too good to wait in line for one that doesnt have bugs too. if i go somewhere to eat, and there is a line, ill go somewhere else. ill drive an hour to be seated rigth away instead of waiting a half hour at one place.

 

^^^^yea i get what your saying there. i'm not waiting in line for hrs just to get a video gaming system, the one that i have is fine. plus bugs in that system when it comes out are going to be there. wait till it gets fixed and the prive comes down. plus 360s are better. lol

 

Of course I'm gonna buy at least one at launch. I reserverd mine at gamestop and I'm gonna camp out in front of Best Buy to get one more. Don't you guys see the potential here??? Just check what they're going on ebay for. I'm gonna sell mine (however many I get) like a week before x-mass and make a killing.

 

6: i might buy one in the distant future when its outdated by 2 or 3 generations of gaming systems and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg...i dont have 600 bucks to squander on a new video game system

 

i mite buy one before the march break....or maybe before the summer starts....i dont want to buy the console and end up playing PS2 games on it because there arent any good games for PS3....

and p.s. i heard that eventually, you'll be able to use the PSP to access you PS3 hard drive from ANYWHERE in teh world!!! i think its in the works.....

and when PS2 first came out, wanst it about $550 CDN?? ish?

 

did you know that the parent company that owns gameslop also owns ebgames, and when they found out how many of the first PS3s they were getting, they sold twice as many "reserve units" as they are getting units? ive read several articles that said that only about half of the people who put down deposits with gameslop or ebgames will actually get one.

 

i did not mean to hurt anyone with my comments of any kind, opinions are opinions. you like xbox i like ps. we both live happy.

anyways im happy you are getting one, but maybe im one of those fanboys that scratched their pennies so he can get a ps3 with bugs. why kill the dream? we are glad to know you have money but not all of us do .
