Ford Racing sells a kit to bolt in a small block Ford motor and RWD drivtrain into the Fucus, it can be done in Joes garage, if he's a competent backyard mechanic.

 

Actualy they swap the V6 SVT engines from the Contour... things are sick!

How can you "tell" he had an engine swap?? In Europe they make the Cosworth Escorts... you wanna talk about quick!

 

The SVT Contour, SVT Focus, any Focus ZETEC motors, 91-96 Escort GT 1.8L motors, or thunderbird motor will NOT FIT into a 1st or 2nd gen Escort LX engine bay without MAJOR, non-worthwhile fabrication and custom mounting.

If you want easy power from your 1st or 2nd gen Escort LX, drop in a 97+ Escort SE/LX 2.0 SPI (110 hp) or 98+ ZX2 2.0 DOHC Zetec (130 hp). Those are the only two motors that will directly bolt onto the mounts and LX transmission without any custom fabrication.

Now, if you're talking about swapping that V6 into the GT, then it's a different story. The Mazda 1.8L V6, 2.5L V6 will swap into a GT. Engine mounts are the same, but the transmissions are different.

 

hmmmmmn i had a 95 escort 4dr with a jdm turbo 323 motor in it. not a very hard swap by any means and makes for one hella sleeper.

i saw a vid of some dude who shoved a vette motor into an old rx7 or somethin. i dont remember exactly what body. but i thnk just to change the oil he had to pull the motor. no room to do a damn thing if it was in the engine bay
