08 Civic Si engine wiring harness
My 08 civic si sedan has 42k miles and I am told it needs a new wiring harness to get the check engine light to go out. It is giving a bank one o2 sensor heater circuit code. I was also told that I have to take the engine out to put the harness on. Is this right?
Are there any other options?
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the newer models but it seems hard to believe the engine must come out. Harnesses can typically be repaired once the bad spot has been pinpointed with an ohm meter. You may want to seek a second opinion from someone who has a schematic of the car and is familair with electrical troubleshooting.

Even if it was replaced, check the resistance of the new sensor's heater to be sure you didn't get a bad one.
If you have codes for both sensor heaters simultaneously, it's likely lack of power overall due to a blown fuse.

I did replace the O2 sensor with 2 different ones and got the same result. Dealer said new harness and install was $1050 My independent mechanic said the engine had to come out to do it as they tried to repair the one bad circuit but honda dealer said a splice would drop the voltage in the line and would keep the check engine light on. Still getting the bank one heater circuit code.
