Car: 1983 Honda Civic 1500

Well this is my first venture into the world of Honda Civics, and now I am stuck. I had a car brought to me that was DOA. The fuel pump had gave up the ghost and the owner had let it set for several years. As it was going bad, the owner "rebuilt" the carb. What all this entailed, I do not know. He said he just put it all back together, but had every adjustment screw out for a clean up.

I have replaced the fuel pump and am getting great fuel to the engine. Here's my issue. I am not a carb guy, and I can not find where any fuel or idle regulating screws are. I adjust what seems to be the throttle screw and it either will not start due to lack of fueling, or start up and run WIDE OPEN. I need help finding a baseline to fine tune the thing.

Any help would be appreciated, I could take some pictures if needed so maybe someone on here could help me out and point me in the direction of finding the correct adjusting screws.

old honda carbs are tricky, i don't know much about them at all. do you have a manuel for it?

 

I have a chiltons and it is basically worthless....it just says the specs that the engine should idle at.
