Default 1989 civic

Hello every-one this is my first Honda and my first 4 cylinder ever. The car was given to me by some girl that just bought a new car and didn't want 2 cars. I drove the car home and it drove great. the drive was about 30 minutes and after the car was parked for about 30 min. it wouldn't start. I left the car alone for 2 hours got back in it and started up just fine and drove it for 1/2 hour. it seems that every time I drive this car I cant start it, I have to wait 2 hours to start it. What can it be? any help would be great. And if anyone can tell me how big the tank is and how many kms you get on a tank.

civic dx, lx or what? what size engine? is it 1493 cc??
sedan or hatchback?

whenever you stop it and it does not start - need to check for spark.

Could be your main relay, check that site for a fix.

sedan or hatchback.

agree with the above. check main relay.
mine would do that - but i would have to wait only 1 to 5 minutes.
i soldered the relay - but dont know yet if that cured it. it was very intermittant.
is this port fuel injection, or dual (throttle body) fuel injection.

Since your asking about kilometers per tank, I'm going to assume you're not in the U.S. On that note, about your tank, I can tell you that the USDM 89 DX is 45 liters/11.9 gallons, but it might be different if you're out of the states.

+3 on the main relay. remove, resolder the joints, reinstall. this is the tell tale sign of a main relay going out. as soon as they get hot they do not activate, but will stay activated while hot.

DX is hatch, at least in the U.S.
