Default 1990 1.5L Lxi civic - cranks but wont start

Alright, I'm helping out my buddy with his car. It cranks just fine but won't start. I pulled a spark plug, grounded it to the block and it sparks OK, maybe a little weak but very consistent. Checked rotor and it spins, so the timing belt is fine. I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs just to be safe. The coil and ICM were changed less than a year ago.

I cranked the engine about 30 seconds, then pulled a plug and it was not wet at all. No gas smell either. I don't think it's getting fuel. Autozone gave me a 'main relay' and it has 4 prongs and is located under hood, near the air box on the passengers side. I swapped that and it didn't fix the problem.

Does this car have an electric fuel pump? I can't hear one when I turn the key to 'on'. Also, does this have the infamous 'main relay'? I can't seem to find it. I'm confused since this car has the throttle body style injection (dual-point). Any help is much appreciated.

thanks,

Joe

Check all the fuses, not just the main relay. There is a fuse for, or connected to the fuel pump.

Hi,
I have the same car with 4 speed transmission. It is still running, but I'm curious to know what you would find. The car I had in the past, not a Honda, had bad fuel pump relay. It worked intermittently. When I was troubleshooting this, I located the pump and hot wired it, and engine ran. Thought it might help.
