Even the most simple DIY people have trouble doing because they might have not been around cars & tools alot.

found out through trial and error that there are indeed upper control arms for the 88-91 Civics that have a removable ball joint.
yours are the welded in ones as it seems. it was quite frustrating tracking down the pressed in ones...

Actually this is a press in ball joint, I pressed out the driver side just for fun, but it's faster just to replace the whole unit.
