OK.. had the valves adjusted, runs like a dream! Sounds even better, may adjust the idle just a bit. but other than that it is great!
About the running rich, I got 250 miles out of a full (and I mean FULL) tank. From Full to Empty. Does that seem right?
I also just noticed the speedomoter stays at zero then kicks in... only occasionally...any ideas???
I am about to have some more work done, It needs a rack and pinion, alignment, and shocks. Probably going to throw some new tires on her also.
This will be a new car soon. Wooo Hoo!

Ok..
Update.
Officially on 10.5 gallons of gas... total FULL.. I got 279.9 miles.. All City driving... that seems right... that's like 27 miles per gallon or so. any thoughts.
The VSS, is that located on the throttle body?.. if so... i defiantly think it is a short in the plug. Because i had just replaced the throttle body with a used one, and the speedometer still does the same thing.
How far back did you cut the used plug?

and... plug wires, air & fuel filters, belts,muffler, tires, oil pan, control arms, tie rods...& cv boots...i know i know theses don't cause overheating, I'm just sayin!
- re-manned Head, new gasket kit and (bolts, if needed)
- flushing and testing the radiator, cap. & thermostat and replacing if needed
- Replacing the overflow tank and cap ($14 why not, had expanded, alot, once)
- Cleaning and testing the IACV and FITV, replacing if needed.

thanks for the new motor advice, it was a thought of mine for sure. I ended up doing the work, all is well now in that department.
Car runs great.. still needs work ( read my most recent posts.)
I didn't want to go the new motor route, mostly because I may or may not, put a vtec in it eventually, so i am waiting to do that if I do a new motor.
Right now the car is our only & daily driver, so I just needed it to run, and get us to work and school. ASAP

new water pump is likely faulty, getting free replacement form orielly auto. 
And some OEM floor mats ...mine had none. I'm off to install all this crap and then get an alignment.
I can get an all stainless steel cat back system (manifold to tailpipe) for $175.00... do ya'll think it is worth it to replace entire exhaust, since i was burning coolant for so long I likely damaged the catalytic.. the upgrade will also boost performance, correct?
- Bought a short shifter...hope that finally fixes the slutty shift problem.
- Bought a re-manned rack and pinion today for $200.00
- Bought R / L rear wheel bearings... on the way
- Bought an OEM radiator cap, (the former overheating deformed the one i had)
- Bought an o2 sensor (why not? only $35.00)

i would recommend replacing your shifter bushings too if it's sloppy right now. I cant remember if you have already. If that doesnt solve things I'm guessing it would be something to do with the shift linkage.
