1993 civic runs like crap after it gets warm
just because the plugs are new doesnt mean they are all good....
ive had this problem pleanty of times on old vehicles... motor would run great until engine warmed up and then it wanted to fall on its face.. ended up just being a bad spark plug wire.
just take the plugs back to your store ya bought them from and swap them out for some new ones. just tell them one of them has to be bad....
cause even if you messed up the firing order.... it shouldnt run smooth at all, should backfire like crazy.... id just guess its a bad plug or plug wire

I tried the new plug wires and it didn't seem to help. It keeps looking like it runs really rich for some reason. If I let it sit and idle for a fem minutes it smokes bad and drips water out of the tailpipe. I also noticed that my antifreeze has went down a little. Is there a chance it could be getting really hot then leaking at the head gasket? When I did the engine overhaul I put a new gasket on and tightened the bolts in sequence according to my manual. However, I did reuse the head bolts... maybe that was a no no???????
Loss of coolant... Does the smoke from the exhaust happen to be white? If so, then your head gasket is probably blown, and the engine problems you've been experiencing are likely caused at least in part by low compression.
yea it's white damn it. I really don't want to take all that crap back apart! lol Is there a way to confirm a blown head gasket? They probably sent me a cheap *** gasket. I appreciate all the help dude
The white smoke and coolant loss would lead to conviction by most juries. If you need more evidence, then check for low compression, although I think it isn't necessary.
If i had to guess it was about 40oz low after a 400 mile trip I took this weekend. I had the cruise set on 80 for about 2.5 hours straight. I got one more question. Before I did the overhaul I was getting 40 miles to the gallon out of this car. It also used about 3 or 4 quarts of oil with a tank of gas. Now it doesn't burn any oil but I'm barely getting 30 mpg now. Would that be normal.

It was the head gasket. I just got done putting it back together. The ignition timing still will not line up for some reason tho. I have to spin the distributor towards the front of the car as far as it will go. That gets it close but it's still a little ways off the mark. Any suggestions?
