I just got my first honda. It has 320k miles on it. I picked it up last week from Madison and drove it back to Minneapolis. I noticed that while cursing at 70 miles per hour the car will all of a sudden get a small boost in power. The RPMs will go up about 100rpm, and will want to accelerate about 1-2 mph faster. This is without me adding any pressure to the gas petal. After a few seconds it will go back to 70mph. Any ideas?

This was before I tuned it up.

I just put in a new air filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. However the car still does this. Itīs also hesitant at low speeds. Almost like it wants to die (not sputtering or spitting, just a solid loss of power) This only lasts about a second and then accelerates normally. Not an often thing, but often enough to notice.
-I wasnīt sure what the plugs needed to be gaped at, but the parts guy said they were pre-gaped.

The car only gets 35mpg, but itīs a VX and I thought it was supposed to get 45+ mpg.

A few things to note:
I used seafoam on the airintake just like the directions said. Seems to idle better, but also higher. It used to idle at about 800rpm, now its about 1000rpm. What should a 93 VX idle at?
Also, after using the seafood I noticed the loss of power at low speeds, but a gain in power as a whole.

I havenīt changed the fuel filter yet. Could this be it?
