My daughter is having a problem with her alt. fuse blowing, I looked at the wires and from what I can see, they look ok. The fuse lasts about 3 days and then it blows, which affect the speedometer and then the battery dies! Not sure what to do. Can anyone help

Sounds like the common short circuit problem where fuse 15 blows in 6th generation Civics. Is the CEL also ON (see link in my signature).

Read this service bulletin:

Tracey, if RonJ is correct, you have some wires whose insulation has been frayed or removed by repetitive rubbing against the intake manifold bracket. apparently this is a very common problem in our 6th gen civics. I checked mine out but the dealer must have taped it up b/c it was very secure and electrical taped up. look at the link to the pdf from RonJ. it gives very clear diagrams.

I took off the intake manafold bracket and didn't find any wires that were messed up? I took the wires out of the plastic holder and checked all wires and had my daughter(while on a lift) put it in 2nd gear and I wiggled the wires and pulled but could not get the fuse to blow and like I said all the wires in the plastic holder behind the bracket looked fine. 2 days before that the car blew 3 fuses in a row? I don't know where to look now. Is there any other things I can check.

Besides fuse 15, what specific other fuses have blown? Prior to fuses blowing, are the lights brightening and dimming?
