1999 Civic Coupe Ex Error Code P1457 and more
Hey all,
So my check engine light turned on and I got it tested and found out it was an evap system issue. I have a smoke test scheduled for Sept. 2nd, but recently I've encountered another issue (of which I'm not sure whether or not it's related to the evap system error or not). My fuel gauge is constantly reading as full now, to the point where it isn't letting me fill it with much gas. Last night I was only able to fill it with about a dollars worth... Does anyone know a temporary solution to this issue? I saw this Scotty Kilmer video on YouTube (I'll leave the link at the bottom) and was wondering if I should do this as a temporary solution until I get my evap system looked at. I was looking at another thread (this one specifically) and I was wondering if I would have to do this, or if fixing the evap system issue would in turn fix the fuel gauge reading as full issue...
Thanks in advance.

god that guys videos annoy me.
so anyway you have 2 or 3 total issues with your car. p1457 is listed as a leak in the evap system. the pump is most likely kicking off for what that annoying video guy you linked mentions. that isn't a leak but a clog in that vent line so the pressure is trying to disperse back through the fill tube. your always showing full is a problem with the tank float. literally just floats on the gasoline in the tank and the 2 systems have no connection to each other.
