Default 2000 Civic LX Knock

Hey All:

I've got a 2000 Honda Civic LX Auto. It's developed something that i can't pinpoint. When it is cold out, around 40 degress and below, i have a knock/tick coming from the engine for about 1 min or so(When the car has been sitting overnight or for more then 3-4 hours. It the summer and higher temps it was fine and i did not hear anything. When the car warms up, the noise goes away and it purrs like a kitten.
The car has 107k.
Valve Lash Adjustment has been done.
Oil change every 3k religiously

I've read that D16y7 do this on some people and the cars run great, just let it warm up.

PLEASE HELP

I had identical symptoms on my old engine. Understand that at 107K, some of the bearings have worn down a little. The engine still runs fine, but it's not as tight as it used to be. The cold temperatures makes the metal contract. That will cause what sounds like a knock. But once the engine warms up and the metal expands a bit, it goes away and runs fine.

It's annoying and it sounds like there's a problem, but it's just normal for an 11 year old car. It won't hurt anything and it goes away once the engine is warmed up.
