Unhappy 2000 Civix EX Stalled Won't Start

I have a 2000 Civic EX with just over 81K miles.

About a mile into the journey home it stalled, eventually died and will not start. I have done some research on the forum but need a little more guidance.

The check engine light is not on, it cranks but will not start. I checked some fuses on the inside and out but none were blown.

I have had some issues with it starting when I have been low on fuel but a few extra turns and it usually fires up.

I had to park it so I will go back in the morning and listen for the fuel pump to prime and check the main relay.

Otherwise I am not sure I can check much else on the side of the road.

Any suggestions or advice is much appreicated.

Thank you,

with that age, when was the last time you had the battery and alternator checked? I'd look there too.

Were you driving then it died on you?? if it is.. check the coil, but then u said there's spark.. my first guess is that it's your igniter.

3 things

Spark, fuel, compression.

Pulll a plug and ground it to check for spark.

Find a fuel line and remove or tap into it and check for fuel pressure while turning car over

Run a compression test

Get those results then we can help you narrow it down.

Thank you for all the responses. I had to have it towed because it was in a bad place to try to work on it.

It was the ignitor and coil and I got them replaced for just over $400. Good call droopy128!!Sux to have to pay someone but it was a bad situation for me to try to troubleshoot.

Thanks again!
