My Honda seems to burn alot of gas and loose power with the AC on. 126 km burns 5.2 gallons of gas. I recently had a mechanic do over my timing and im not sure if thats the root of the problem. It also doesnt allow me to shift or go over 60 mph if i press the gas pedal to the metal. the only way it will go over 60 is if i release the gas and press it again and it would only give me 80 and rev out. Also if i press the gas and rev out while it is park the rpm only goes to 5 and dies off. Could anyone please please please please help me because im tired of being run around and being taxed by these pricey mechanics in Belize. Thanks in advance.

 

Get a timing light and check the timing yourself. If the timing was set without installing the test jumper (a common mistake), it will be way wrong and gas mileage and performance will be awful.

 

Thanks i believe this is the problem. Actually i took the car back and they jumper something under the passenger side of the car that i told them i had read about. should that had been done before they set the timing? is that what u mean?

 

Yes. There is a little plug inside the car on the side.
