RE: 2000 SI problems need help!

There should be a sensor and a vacuum hose hooked up to the intake tube. I'm curious to know what the CEL is for. Make sure you ask the dealership what it is.

Here is what is hooked up right now in the engine. It shows there is only the one hose hooked up to the valve cover and nothing else.

Having image problems....

Is there a sensor ANYWHERE just hanging around in that general area? It looks like the vacuum hose is the only thing hooked up to it.

Well first of all that's GSR motor. You have just inherited someone else's project, and no dealer will want to sort out the problems for you.

Take off the kick panel in the passenger footwell and tell us the ECU code, it will say P2T, or P72, or P28, or something else

Look at the intake manifold, that's the difference

Ok i see it, but i thought the gsr had the cover off of the timing belt?

no, if you saw one like that, it's because someone cut the cover off.

well the GSR motor is a lot better than what you are supposed to have, but sounds like someone messed up on the installation.
