Default 2001 Honda Civic Lx stalls

Hello everyone,
I’m new to this forum stuff, but need some help. I have a 2001 civic lx with 280,000 miles on it. About 6 months ago, I was driving it down a dirt road and it started chugging, being sluggish, would not accelerate and eventually died. I couldn’t get it to start back up. Popped the hood and the one piece exhaust manifold/catalytic converter was red hot. Came back 2 hrs later, started it up and drove it on the trailer, seems to run fine. Put new manifold with no cat on it and drove it with no problems until last week. Then it did the same thing again. Any ideas would be great.

No check engine light (besides the code for #2 O2 sensor)? I'm going to go out on a whim and guess that you might have a fuel issue in some form. I may be wrong, but I'm guessing clogged fuel filter/bad fuel pump or something along those lines.

Thanks for the help. One thing I didn’t mention is that the last time I tried to start it when it died, it back fired. Could the resonator or muffler be causing some sort of problem? I will look into the fuel filter though
