2002 Civic Ex Will not Accelerate

Our 2002 Civic Ex will not accelerate when the gas pedal is on the floor. CEL is says EGR valve put it is clean. Please post your recommendations on where to look for this issue. Thanks! Greg

You've probably already done this - but, have you checked the fuel filter?
I had a similar problem on a different car and replacing the fuel filter (even though it looked new) solved the issue.
