Default 2002 Manual Transmission Noise

Newbie to this forum and think I know the answer already to my problem based on the research I have done here.

2002 LX, manual, 163,000 mi. Clutch kit recently replaced, grinding noise remains. Sounds like the input shaft bearing. Question? Replace the bearing or replace with a rebuilt gearbox?

I am actually looking to sell the car..but that is another story

Likely a rebuilt gearbox would just have had a few bearings replaced. The input shaft bearing is the one weak part, the rest of the unit will last a long time unless abused.

thx mk378. In my research I noticed you had replied to other questions of this type. Obviously the transmission needs to be dropped to do this...or does it? The bearing seems pretty inexpensive, and relatively easy to get to, I would just hate to get it all out (like when I paid to have the clutch done) and then still have the noise after it's all put back together. My time is the thing...i didn't have time to do the clutch and really don't have time to do this either...which is why I leaning toward selling it to someone who does have the time and skills to do the job.
