Hello everyone,

I've been trying to help my brother in law get his car fixed and honestly I'm out of ideas.
He has a 2002 Civic Ex 1.7 auto transmission with less than 100k. The car started having problems when the weather started to get warmer. The car starts just fine and runs great for about 45 minutes then it stalls and wont start again until it cools down.
Ive done a bit of research and also spent some time trying to diagnose it.
a quick list of parts tested of replaced:
Replaced - Crank Sensor
Replaced - Cam Sensor
Replaced - Ignition Module
Replaced - Fuel Pump Relay (Blue)
Replaced - EFI Relay (Brown)
Tested - Fuel Pressure (Both while running and after it stalled)
Tested - Coolant temp sensor

He just took it the the dealer to see if they could diagnose it, they told him it was either the crank sensor (which we just replaced) or the pcm.


If you guys have any ideas it you be very appreciated.

Forgot to mention, the car had a crank sensor code when I first started working on it. After we replaced the sensor the check engine light went away and has not returned. The symptoms stayed.

 

Quick update.
We found an ECU at a salvage yard and am going to go pull it later today to see if thats the problem.

 

My 2001 LX is doing the same thing, what was the problem???????
