2003 Civic: Poor fuel economy
I bought an '03 Civic DX about two months ago with about 60,000 km (38,000 mi) on it. Ever since I've had it, I haven't gotten over 22 mpg in the city. I don't drive it hard (I've been told I drive like a grandma). I drive it about 1 km to and from work, and then mostly straight ahead 60 km/hr driving after that. I've taken it into the dealer 3 speparate times, and they can't find anything. So they tell me that 20 mpg is within the acceptable range, since the fuel economy quote is always higher than the actual mileage. I'm fully aware that it's usually lower, but 15 mpg lower?? I've talked to people that get better than that with a truck or an SUV. So why the hell did I buy a tiny Honda? Anyone else have the same problem, or any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.
