I have searched through the forums regarding this issue, and while there is plenty of information available I found nothing specific to my problem.


The drivers door lock can not be manually locked/unlocked from the outside of the car with a key, I have to enter through the passenger side. The switch inside on the drivers door properly locks and unlocks all 4 doors.


I purchased an aftermarket key fob and followed the programming instructions. Car will not enter programming mode (locks do not cycle). I took it to the dealer and they could not get the keyless entry to work either.


I know that the lock cylinder needs replaced because the key will not turn. Would this (defective lock cylinder) affect my keyless entry operation? Because the switch on the interior drivers door is functional does this mean my actuator is working?
