Default 2003 honda civic stalls while driving

The other day I was driving on the highway and my civic kind of jerked like it was about to stall and the engine light came on. I got off the highway and it stopped when I was going slower on main roads. It does it once I get up to about 50 mph and will jerk a little then pick back up and keep doing it repeatedly. I actually got my oil changed yesterday (after this started happening) so I don't believe it is due to my oil being low. I do not have a ton of knowledge about cars, so I have been asking friends and family if they have any ideas of what could be going on. I've heard everything from spark plugs to the fuel filter. Any ideas of what could be going on? I planned on stopping by auto zone after work today to see if I could get pointed in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Whenever the engine light comes on, the computer should have stored a trouble code for the problem it detected. You need to get the computer scanned and find out what the code is. Codes are stored in memory even after the light goes out, as long as the battery stays connected and charged. The codes should not always be considered an absolute diagnosis, but it is usually a pretty good clue.
