I test drove a 2004 EX this evening. Has a cracked windshield, needs some brake work, timing belt and water pump changed 20,000 miles ago. Good tires. Speedometer does not work, odometer does work. Any ideas? I have done a search this evening and I have read about vss. Anyone have similar issue. She wants 2500.00 for it, she will sell for $2000. Thanks for any assistance. I have 2 teenage daughters, 18 and 20. I am willing to give them the newer car and drive this, I just have to figure if these are inexpensive repairs. Car has 196,000 miles on it

There is a self check for the gauge cluster.
I used this service on Ebay. I had issues with the fuel gauge. Over a year later everything is working well.
