Having problems moving the floor gear shift **** (automatic). The shift handle had to be taken off because the bottom where it fits in the "ribbed hole" broke. I have the plastic for the PRNDL" side, but what I am wondering is if the middle ribbed gray part that slides back and forth can be cut out so it doesn't jam up the shift lever? It will barely go into reverse, and I can put the left side PRNDL plastic piece back on so the it creates the track for it to slide back and forth. Again, do you thing I can cut the middle grey plastic out where the gear shift is and still have the shifter work? Not interested in buying a replacement conesole piece because they are all going to be used and close to just as not durable. Thank you if you can help!
