alright the tranny grinds going from 2nd to 3rd, but it doesnt if i double clutch... someone said 3rd gear synchro... what am i suppose to do? thanks to anyone with good advive.

 

another thing too look at is the rear and front tranny mounts. if there bad enough it can cause it.

 

well if u are going to try to fix it yourself.......u wanna open up the tranny and see what is stripped.....itll stick out pretty bad. I suppose replace that and anythin else that looks like it would need to be replaced soon........mite as well since ur already there.....im not sure thou i dont kno too much about trannies.........but whatcha think guys? good answeR>?

 

If you suspect that the synchro has gone bad maybe you want to check the trans fluid for gold metal shavings. If the syncho will leave some metal behind if its bad so you should be able to see this in the trans fluid.

 

If you don't LOVE mechanical nightmared, don't attempt to fix the tranny urself...get a used one with a warranty

 

WIAT! Before you do anything like ripping out the tranny etc. do what I did.... I waqs grinding from 3rd to 4th bad. I bought BG syncroshift and changed the fluid in the tranny. I took it for a drive right after putting it in and the grinding was still there.....let the car sit over night and drove it the next day and i can't get the thing to grind if my life depended on it... try that first.. it will cost yoou about $34.... good luck
