88 Civic Lx shaking problem

Unhappy 88 Civic Lx shaking problem

Ok so I don't know much about cars... but when I start my honda it shakes and when I back up also when i come to a stop... also it has the check engine light on all the time... i was told by lots of people to do this and that so I installed new spark plugs and cables, new oil and filter, new air filter, and inserted a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and it's still doing it... took it by advance and they said the motor mount looked fine and he saw nothing wrong it it but he didn't drive it... also when i'm on a step hill and i stop it sometimes cut off... but after i get about 2000rpm or 25mph the car runs smooth... please help

Consider also replacing the distributor cap and rotor.

Read the CEL code blinking from the LED of the ECU:

it blinked 19 times then stop and would blink 19 times again and stop and so on

Do you have an automatic transmission?

Start by installing a new distributor cap and rotor.

Try cleaning the IACV (EACV) on the throttle body and adjusting the idle screw:

it's auto and i don't have those tools
